Today I was able to track down some beetle kill pine wood with excellent character. I thought this would fit very well with the Taos table so I set off to work. In my opinion, a great way to showcase the wood would be to make a butcher block finish for the sides.

After completing the butcher block sides the next step was to cut a base for the tile and grout it. I chose to use a grout that was simple and not stand out in order to showcase the tiles.

The grout has dried and after applying the polyurethane the project is almost complete. The only thing I need to do now is hand it off to the client who will arrive tomorrow.
