The Cityscape Table
The primary purpose of custom furniture is to solve a problem. This project highlights one of the more common burdens that homeones face when shopping for furniture at big box retailers - They can find the look they want but not not in the size they need.
The floorplan of this Denver-area home only allowed for a very narrow dining table in order to avoid negatively impact space for movement around the room. The narrow table presented a unique design challenge: the narrow top necessesitated a very narrow base that would make the table top-heavy.
Strategically placed concrete in the base of the two legs counter-balanced the top, allowing the table to defy gravity!
